Great Britain at the Olympics: Visualised
I thought I would share with you a visualisation I made for a recent project, looking at the performance of Great Britain at the Olympics over the last century. I created a radial bar plot, in a similar fashion to my twitter visualisation, using Processing to generate proportional bars along a semicircle. I like this format because it provides more space for supplementary information than a typical bar plot, which I have utilised here with some Olympic trivia. With just over a month until the opening ceremony in London, it isn’t too long until we can see if our rising success through the Australian (2000), Greek (2004), and Chinese (2008) events can continue.
